Hundreds march to demand respect for women's rights in southern Mexico

San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mar 8 (EFE).- Hundreds of women participated Friday in a march through the streets of San Cristóbal de Las Casas in southern Mexico, on the occasion of International Women's Day.

The demonstrators demanded respect for women's rights, an end to femicides, kidnappings and disappearances of boys and girls in Chiapas state.

International Women's Day (IWD) is observed annually on Mar. 8 worldwide to highlight women's rights, including issues such as violence and abuse against women. (Camera: MITZI FUENTES).
