Health trade union protest against economic crisis in Sri Lanka

Colombo, Jul 7 (EFE/EPA).- Members of health trade unions staged a protest on Friday over the economic crisis outside the National Hospital in Colombo.

A protest in front of most government hospitals was held over the last three days, demanding immediate solutions to the medicine shortage and solutions to long-standing salary and employment issues.

Sri Lanka is experiencing its worst economic crisis in over seven decades as a result of a lack of foreign reserves. (Camera: CHAMILA KARUNARATHNE).
