Guinness record holder as news anchor bids farewell to the set in Ecuador

Quito, Apr 19 (EFE) - With the Guinness record of being the longest uninterrupted news anchor on the air, and after accumulating 56 years on the screens of Ecuador and two extensive books of memoirs, Alfonso Espinosa de los Monteros says goodbye to the television set at the age of 81, to move away from the frenetic world of the press but without getting off the crest of the wave of social networks.

It was March 1, 1967 when "Don Alfonso", as he is popularly known, appeared on screen, preceded by about eight years of radio, and by a foray into the written press at the age of 11, almost by chance.
