VENEZUELA ELECTIONS

Guillermo Tell Aveledo: "Any Government should approach all churches and their communities"

Caracas, June 26 (EFE).- The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has expressed his sympathy for various religions during his life, as he has stated in government events throughout his mandate, with a special rapprochement with evangelical Christians, a fact that, according to experts, serves as electoral revenue.

STATEMENTS BY GUILLERMO TELL AVELEDO, DOCTOR IN POLITICAL SCIENCES:

The truth is that any government should approach all its churches and all its religious communities to the extent that they are there. The same applies to the symbolic and political use of religions, both in favor of religion in terms of its access to political power, as well as the access of political power to have, through religion, an impact on the communities of parishioners, of the faithful, of believers of a particular religion. In the electoral context, it is inevitable to think that there is a relationship between both things.
