Grenade attack on police station signals escalation of violence in Colombia

Jamundí, Apr 5 (EFE).- A police station in Jamundí, a rural area of the Colombian municipality of Valle del Cauca department (southwest), was the target of a grenade attack attributed to FARC dissidents this Friday.

This incident is part of a new wave of violence, following another attack on a military garrison in the city of Cali in the last 24 hours.

These back-to-back attacks highlight the continuing problems of violence and instability that Colombia faces in some regions, despite efforts to maintain peace and security. (Camera: ERNESTO GUZMÁN JR.).
