BELGIUM PROTEST

Greenpeace activists demonstrate at Liquefied Natural Gas terminal in Belgium

Zeebrugge (Belgium) Apr 29 (EFE/EPA) - (Camera: Olivier Hoslet) Greenpeace activists in kayaks and carrying banners protested at a Fluxys Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal in Zeebrugge on Saturday.

Five Greenpeace zodiac boats entered the Fluxys facility and then climbed onto the quays used for loading, unloading and transferring huge ships carrying LNG.

The activists unfurled a large banner with the message "Gas kills, Fluxys is guilty".

According to Mathieu Soete, energy expert at Greenpeace Belgium, the protesters are demanding Fluxys and the authorities to abandon new gas projects and abandon gas for good by 2035.
