Germany and France agree to boost growth in Europe

Berlin (Germany), Sep 13 (EFE/EPA) - (Camera: Clemens Bilan) The French Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, participated on Wednesday in the meeting of the German Council of Ministers in which it was agreed to seek ways to strengthen cooperation between Germany and France to boost growth in Europe in difficult times due to the geopolitical situation.

"We have made a common analysis of the situation in Europe. There have been fundamental changes, we used to be able to rely on market forces, now we have the fact that there are countries that use energy and other economic goods as a weapon of geopolitical pressure," said the German Minister of Economy and Vice-Chancellor, Robert Habeck, in a joint appearance with Le Maire.

Within this framework, Habeck underlined the common challenges that France and Germany have to take on within the framework of the European Union (EU), among which he highlighted the decarbonisation of the economy and the reduction of bureaucracy.
