Berlin (Germany), Apr 24 (EFE) - German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and Azerbaijan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, president-designate of COP29, called on Wednesday for a review of national plans to combat global warming and to ensure that they are adequately funded.

Translation:

1. All countries must now adopt ambitious new climate plans, the so-called NDCs. It sounds technical, but climate plans are plans for investment and prosperity.

2. That is why I have created an alliance of change agents here at the Petersberg Climate Dialogue. A coalition, an alliance that shares a conviction: economic development and climate protection are not mutually exclusive, they go hand in hand.

3. For example, a Latin American country that said "we want to do more for climate protection, especially with regard to coal and oil", was downgraded and its financial possibilities worsened.
