German women ministers visit Sachsenhausen to promote historical remembrance among young people

Berlin (Germany), Apr 23 (EFE/EPA) - German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, together with Family Minister Lisa Paus and Culture Minister Claudia Roth, visited the Sachsenhausen concentration camp in Oranienburg, near Berlin, today as part of the "Youth Remembers" programme.

The 'Youth Remembers' programme aims to motivate young people to visit memorial sites, especially those related to the Holocaust and the Second World War, promoting tolerance, understanding and respect for diversity.

More than 200,000 people were imprisoned at Sachsenhausen between 1936 and 1945 in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, according to the Sachsenhausen memorial.
