France opens its polling stations in an election that could bring far-right to power

Avignon (France), Jun 30 (EFE) - The first round of the early French legislative elections began Sunday with the opening of polling stations in the metropolitan territory, in elections that could mean the arrival to power for the first time of the far right by democratic means.

More than 49.5 million citizens are called to the polls to elect the 577 deputies of the National Assembly, and the second round will take place next Sunday, July 7.
