Forest fires in Brazil destroy an area the equivalent of Uruguay by 2023

Rio de Janeiro, Jan 22 (EFE) - Forest fires in Brazil destroyed 17.3 million hectares of vegetation last year, an area equivalent to the territory of Uruguay and 6% more than will be devastated in 2022, according to a study released this Monday by the Mapbiomas network.
