Floods on Indonesian island of Sulawesi leave at least 15 dead

Celebes Island (Indonesia), May 4 (EFE/EPA).- At least 15 people have lost their lives as a result of flooding and landslides on the island of Sulawesi, in the central region of Indonesia, emergency teams reported this Saturday.

The torrential rains that have hit the area since Thursday have caused waters to rise up to 3 meters high in some districts of southern Sulawesi, the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB) points out in a statement.Heavy rainfall has also caused large landslides.
