Filipino protesters protest against military exercises taking place in country

Quezon City (Philippines), Apr 22 (EFE/EPA).- Filipino protesters gathered this Monday in front of the Armed Forces headquarters in Quezon City.

The group of protesters condemned the ongoing military exercises between the United States and the Philippines, which the Philippine Armed Forces and the US military are conducting from April 22 to May 10.

More than 16,000 Filipino and United States soldiers have been participating since Monday in joint military exercises held in the Asian archipelago, in the midst of an escalation of tensions with Beijing in the South China Sea and around Taiwan.
