Brussels (Belgium), Jun 1 (EFE/EPA) - (Camera: Olivier Hoslet) Members of the Flemish trade union Boerenbond and the Committee of Community Agricultural Organisations and Cooperatives (Copa-Cogeca) protested on Thursday in Brussels against the Nature Restoration Act, whose main measure is a 50 % reduction in the use of chemical pesticides in the EU by 2030.The farmers' protest also sparked a demonstration by environmental activists in Brussels calling for a "pesticide-free Europe". The European Commission's proposal, to be negotiated by member states and the European Parliament, aims to remediate at least 20% of land and sea areas by 2030 and reduce the use of chemical pesticides.
