The 'fabioler' starts Sant Joan festivities in Ciutadella (Menorca)

Mahón (Spain), Jun 16 (EFE) -. At nine in the morning, punctual for his appointment, the 'fabioler' sounded the drum and the 'fabiol' (piccolo) from the Can Salort manor house and began the 'Diumenge des Be', which opens the Sant Joan festivities in Ciutadella.

The procession, made up of a 'caixer' representative of each class of the festival (nobility, clergy and peasantry), is led by the 'fabioler', a single 'caixer' who carries the flag of Sant Joan, with the Maltese cross, and s'Homo des Be, a man wrapped in furs, with a lamb on his back, who will walk barefoot throughout the city all day.
