First evidence of the Maccabean revolt discovered in the Judean Desert

Jerusalem, Dec 13 (EFE/EPA).- (Camera: Atef Safadi) A wooden box and 15 silver coins found in the Judean Desert have become the first evidence of the Maccabean revolt against the Greek Seleucid Kingdom

The coins were on display Tuesday at the Israel Antiquities Authority laboratory.
