The first European otter calf is born at the Santillana Zoo

Torrelavega, Oct 27 (EFE).- The Santillana del Mar Zoo has been the scene of the birth of a baby European otter, the first in these facilities, the result of a pair of specimens of that species arrived from Germany, as part of a conservation program of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).

The small otter, which does not yet have a name, is the result of the union of a male from the Hoyeswerda Zoo and a female from a nature experience center in Otter-Zentrum.
