Jarandilla de la Vera (Cáceres, Spain), Dec 8 (EFE) (Camera: Eduard Palomo) - Hundreds of bonfires and brooms burned last night in the Cáceres town of Jarandilla de la Vera in honor of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, in a rite sustained by fire, fervor and passion that for centuries has become the greatest cultural expression of this municipality in the north of Cáceres.The "Escobazos", popular denomination of this festivity declared of regional tourist interest and that aspires to obtain the national declaration, reunited again the eve of the festivity of the Immaculate Conception to thousands of visitors that, as the tradition says, were greeted with burning brooms and entertained with wine by the neighbors of Jarandilla.FOOTAGE OF THE CELEBRATION OF THE ESCOBAZOS IN CÁCERES, SPAIN.
