EU environment chief visits Galapagos Islands in Ecuador

Galapagos Islands, Mar 21 (EFE).- The Commissioner for the Environment, Oceans and Fisheries Lithuanian Virginijus Sinkevičius named a one year old giant Galapagos tortoise “Baltÿa” on Thursday.

Sinkevicius' visit focused on the protection of the Amazon and the oceans, as well as the commitment of the European bloc to promote energy sustainable development in the Galapagos Islands and in combating marine pollution due to microplastics. (Camera: JUAN FRANCISCO CHÁVEZ).
