Empowerment program 'MOB' seeks to help thousands of women in Honduras

Intibucá, May 6 (EFE).- MOB, an indigenous word that means Woman, is a program that "changes the lives" of Lenca and peasant women in western Honduras through the empowerment of their rights, allowing them to break the cycle of gender violence and have a livelihood for their family.

Gloria Márquez, 63, belongs to that group of women from the municipality of Camasca, department of Intibucá, in western Honduras, who decided to "raise her voices" against gender-based violence and dared to start her own businesses to reduce her poverty. (Camera: DANIEL ESPINOZA).
