Ecuador's plebiscites against oil and mining called for compliance

Quito, Feb 20 (EFE).- The environmental and indigenous groups that promoted the plebiscites held last year in Ecuador to stop oil extraction in an oil field in the Amazonian Yasuní National Park and to prohibit all types of mining in the Andean Chocó have demanded on Tuesday that the votes of Ecuadorians be fulfilled, six months after both ballots were held.
