ECUADOR PROTESTS

Ecuador faces protests over planned fuel subsidy cuts

Quito, Jun 12 (EFE).- Ecuador's Popular Front union led protests in Quito against President Daniel Noboa's economic policy, which is seen as aligned with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The protests were sparked by the government's plans to eliminate fuel subsidies, a move also opposed by other unions and the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities (Conaie). (Camera: JUAN FRANCISCO CHÁVEZ).
