Ecuador considers hiring energy barges to alleviate crisis, reduce blackouts

Quito, April 22 (EFE) - The Government of Ecuador announced on Monday that it was studying offers for electricity generation through barges, as a measure to alleviate the generation crisis in hydroelectric plants due to drought, which has led to nationwide blackouts of up to eight hours a day.
