Dozens protest in Metro Manila decrying skyrocketing food inflation

Quezon City, Jan 16 (EFE/EPA).- Dozens of protesters gathered Monday for a demonstration calling for the Philippine government to reduce food prices, outside the Department of Agriculture in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

High inflation, due in part to high food prices in December 2022 and soaring prices of onions since then, triggered calls for government measures to help raising the income of local farmers and reduce food prices for consumers. (Camera: ROLEX DELA PENA).
