Dominique Pelicot, after raping his wife for years: “I should never have done this, I'm going to die like a dog”

Avignon (France), Nov 20 (EFE) - Dominique Pelicot, the man who for 10 years drugged his wife to abuse her without her consent and to be raped by dozens of other men he recorded, said Wednesday: “I should never have done this, I'm going to die like a dog.

Amid tears, he ended his last statement before the Avignon Criminal Court by addressing his ex-wife, Gisèle Pelicot, and his daughter, Caroline Darian, to whom he reiterated his apologies for all the pain caused, even though he acknowledged that “it will not be enough”.

"It was a Dominique Pelicot that I would have liked that he expressed himself more before and not in the final moments. But at least it has the merit of being said, of being received, of being heard. If it is understood, perfect. If it is believed, even better. If not, it doesn't matter, but in any case, that is the truth of Dominique Pelicot".
