Toledo, Spain, Apr 21 (EFE).- Spanish researcher Javier Escudero has located a document confirming that during the time of Cervantes, a specific area including several towns such as Quintanar de la Orden, El Toboso, Campo de Criptana, and Mota del Cuervo was popularly known as the "encomienda of the places of La Mancha." This is the same name used by the author at the beginning of "Don Quijote."Escudero, a doctor in Humanities, professional archivist, and author of several books on the work of Cervantes, showed EFE this "extraordinarily curious" document from 1614. Found in the Provincial Historical Archive of Toledo, the document "enters directly into the discussion" regarding the "place in La Mancha" written by Miguel de Cervantes.
