Devotees across India participate in Maha Shivaratri in honor of Lord Shiva

Mumbai, Mar 8 (EFE/EPA).- Hindus across India celebrated on Friday the Maha Shivaratri festival in honor of Lord Shiva with ritual baths of Shiva lingams and prayers.

The devotees believe their desires will be fulfilled if they worship Shiva on this day and began lining up at dawn outside of main temples nationwide.

Devotees brought with them offerings including flowers, coconuts, and cow's milk, all of which are used to bless the deity. (Camera: DIVYAKANT SOLANKI).
