Devotees celebrate Naradevi Dance festival in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Nov 21 (EFE/EPA).- Nepalese devotees participated Thursday in a religious rally during the 12-year iteration of the Naradevi Dance festival in Kathmandu.

The Naradevi goddess is worshipped as the protector of Kathmandu valley.

During this festival, dozens of devotees wear masks of various gods and goddesses and take a religious tour within Kathmandu valley.

The Kathmandu-based Newar community celebrates this festival as a symbol of the victory of the gods over demons and also the welfare of the world and the dance is organized every year and every 12 years a new cycle begins. (Camera: NARENDRA SHRESTHA).
