Deaths due to covid-19 in Honduras reach 23,000, according to funeral parlors

Tegucigalpa, Aug 10 (EFE), (Camera: Daniel Espinoza).- The number of deaths from coronavirus in Honduras since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 exceeds 22,800, which is more than double the number registered by the Government, according to the Funeral Homes Association of the Central American country.

Officially, according to the Ministry of Health, some 11,000 people have died in Honduras as a result of the covid-19 pandemic. The official figures contrast with those of the Funeral Homes Association, which in 2021 alone recorded 14,110 burials, while in 2020 it added 7,620, for a total of 21,730 in two years.
