Cyprus honors fallen during Turkish invasion on its 50th anniversary | Video

Nicosia (Cyprus), Jul 20 (EFE) - The commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Turkish military invasion of Cyprus on July 20, 1974, will be remembered differently this Saturday in the Greek Cypriot south and Turkish Cypriot north of this divided Mediterranean island.

The Turkish army invaded Cyprus under the pretext of restoring constitutional order after the coup d'état led by the military junta of Greece, which sought to overthrow the Cypriot president, Archbishop Makarios III, and also to annex the island.
