UK EXHIBITION

Cute culture at a London exhibition

London (UK), Jan 24 (EFE/EPA) - (Camera: Judith Mora/Neil Hall) Soft cuddly toys, sweet kittens and cute characters from literature and video games are on display in an exhibition in London that explores how the culture of cute, which can be as endearing as it is sinister, is expanding at a dizzying pace in today's world.

CUTE', presented to the press on Wednesday, brings together the work of some fifty artists, historical objects and an area dedicated to the friendly cat Hello Kitty, created by Japanese Yuko Shimizu just 50 years ago.

To celebrate this anniversary, the Sanrio brand, also responsible for 'cuteness' such as Chococat and Cinnamoroll, is sponsoring part of the exhibition, which openly encourages visitors to post cute photos on social networks.
