Cuban Legnis Calá strips boxing of prejudices and demonstrates in the ring that "yes, it is possible"

Havana, Nov 25 (EFE) - "It's a strong sport, but it can be done," said 32-year-old Havana native Legnis Calá in an interview with EFE, who has already made history by becoming the first Cuban boxer to make her debut in an international competition.

Cuba, historically a world power in men's boxing, only officialized the practice of this sport a year ago. The change, part of reforms that included a May 2022 debut in professional boxing, came after six decades of prohibition.
