‘I’m convinced I’ll be acquitted’: Spanish murder suspect in Thailand

Koh Samui (Thailand), Mar 21 (EFE).- (Camera: Archive EFE/EPA) Daniel Sancho, a Spanish chef accused of killing and dismembering a Colombian surgeon last year in Thailand, believes he will be acquitted of first degree murder when his trial begins next month.

In an interview from prison on the tourist hotspot of Koh Samui, Sancho told EFE that he was acting in self-defense during the incident on the neighboring island of Phangan, despite being accused of the premeditated killing of Edwin Arrieta.

Sancho — a chef, YouTuber and son of Spanish movie star Rodolfo Sancho — will stand trial on Apr. 9 on Koh Samui.
