URUGUAY POLITICS

"Contemporary politics has some diseases," says José Mujica

Montevideo, April 25 (EFE).- Some illnesses of contemporary politics generate discredit in the vision that young people have of it, who currently inhabit a world that does not have things that frequently make them fall in love according to former president of Uruguay José Mujica (2010-2015).

STATEMENTS BY JOSÉ MUJICA, FORMER PRESIDENT OF URUGUAY: It is the fault of the contemporary world that does not have things to fall in love with. And then it generates a discredit in the common vision of young people. Politics is a detestable thing, the image that is poured also, because contemporary politics has some diseases. I am not to blame for being a stoic, as I live in a rather superficial world. People... there are some things that seem to them to be crazy. They call it a culture of populism.
