Commemorations for the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution begin in Portugal

Lisbon (Portugal), Apr 25 (EFE) - The commemorations for the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution in Portugal, which ended the dictatorship, began Thursday in Lisbon with a military ceremony in the central 'Praça do Comércio'.

The event was presided over by the Portuguese president, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who was accompanied by the prime minister, Luís Montenegro, and members of his government, apart from the highest legislative, judicial, and military authorities.
