Colombian political candidates close campaigns ahead of regional elections

Bogota, Oct 22 (EFE) - With caravans, street marches and even going house to persuade people that they are the best option, Colombia's mayoral and gubernatorial candidates concluded their public campaigns on Sunday for the October 29 elections.

The National Registrar's Office, the body organising the elections, said that 38.9 million people are eligible to vote on the day on which mayors will be elected for more than 1,100 municipalities and 32 governors, as well as representatives for departmental assemblies and municipal councils.
