Colombian leaders pledge support for indigenous demands at historic Cali meeting

Cali, Mar 15 (EFE).- President Gustavo Petro and his government met on Friday in Cali, Colombia, with participants in an indigenous mobilisation, with the aim of fulfilling a promise of change, dignity and social justice.

This meeting is part of the assembly "Minga por las transformaciones para la vida, el territorio, la democracia, y la paz" (Minga for transformations for life, territory, democracy, and peace), which demonstrates the government's commitment to peace, democracy, and inclusion.

The gathering of more than 7,000 indigenous people from various Colombian regions underlines the movement's call for the protection of life, territorial respect and social justice as fundamental elements of peace. (Camera: ERNESTO GUZMÁN).
