Chinese, Kazakh tourists flock to Thai temples after visa waiver launch

Bangkok, Sep 26 (EFE/EPA).- Chinese tourists thronged temples on Tuesday following the launch of a five-month visa waiver programme for Chinese and Kazakh visitors to Thailand.

The visa waiver programme, effective from September 25, 2023, to February 29, 2024, is a strategic move by Thailand to boost tourism revenue.

The tourism sector has been severely affected by travel restrictions and global closures due to the pandemic.

This initiative is set to attract a significant influx of tourists from China and Kazakhstan, which could play a key role in Thailand's economic recovery in the tourism industry. (Camera: NARONG SANGNAK).
