China launches military drills after US hosts Taiwan’s Tsai

Beijing, Apr 6 (EFE/EPA).- On Thursday, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning announced during a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that China has initiated military drills in response to the meeting between Taiwan's president Tsai Ing-wen and US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on April 5th.

Mao Ning reiterated China's strong objections to any form of a meeting between Tsai Ing-wen and US officials during the conference. (Camera: WU HAO).
