Chilean students demand government cut ties with Israel

Santiago de Chile, May 15 (EFE).- On Wednesday, hundreds of students from several Chilean universities called on the government to break diplomatic relations with Israel, which they accused of being a "genocidal state".

The protest took place at the Central House of the University of Chile, in Santiago, on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Nakba, the mass displacement of Palestinians after the creation of the State of Israel in 1948.

Aldo Villalobos, of the University of Chile's Palestine Solidarity Committee, demanded that the university's rector, Rosa Devés, and the government of President Gabriel Boric cut all diplomatic, economic and military ties with Israel. (Camera: RODRIGO SÁEZ).
