Chilean Social Development Minister resigns, the first of the Boric era

Santiago de Chile, Aug 25 (EFE) - Chilean President Gabriel Boric announced Thursday that he accepted the resignation of Social Development Minister Jeannette Vega after it was leaked that one of her advisers recently contacted by phone the radical Mapuche leader Hector Llaitul, arrested the day before.

"I have taken the decision to accept the resignation of the Minister of Social Development, Jeannette Vega", said the President during a tour in the north of the country.
