Ceremony of translation of Apostle in Santiago de Compostela

Santiago de Compostela (Spain), Dec 30 (EFE), (Camera: Josechu Ortiz).- The cathedral of Santiago de Compostela on Saturday celebrated the offering of the translation, a ceremony established in 1646 during the reign of Philip IV, and which commemorates the transfer from Jaffa (Palestine) to Santiago de Compostela of the remains of the apostle Saint James the Greater for receive burial in the place where the cathedral stands.
