DAKAR RALLY

Carlos Sainz, overall leader at Dakar, 25 minutes over Loeb

Ha'il, Saudi Arabia, Jan 15 (EFE).- (Camera: Carlos Rosique) Spanish driver Carlos Sainz (Audi), leader of the Dakar 2024, said on Monday after extending the advantage he maintains to 25 minutes over Sébastian Loeb (Prodrive), that "there is one less day left" but that "a lot of situations happen every day" and "we have to keep going like this."

SOUNDBITES BY THE SPANISH DRIVER CARLOS SAINZ ON MONDAY AT DAKAR 2024:

"The firs part of the stage has been completely different from the second part. The first part with sand and dunes, not many, but some dunes. And it's true that Loeb drove very quick there and then the second part was completely different, lot of stones -stone, stone...- a very open place where, the back you start, the better. We haven't had neither any navigation issue nor flat tyre and we're very happy wiuth the stage, in which we could recover some time and...a one less day left."
