O Carballiño again attracts thousands of people with its Festa do Pulpo

O Carballiño (Ourense, Spain), Aug 13 (EFE) (Camera: Jorge Piñeiro).- Thousands of people have participated this Sunday in the Festa do Pulpo de O Carballiño, in Ourense.

This festival dates back to 1964 when a group of friends decided to bring this delicacy to some improvised tables in the O Carballiño Municipal Park and due to its rapid success it was declared of National Tourist Interest in 1972.

Since then, the town of Ourense has celebrated 61 years of obligatory appointment in Galicia, with the celebration of an important pilgrimage.
