MEXICO MIGRANT CRISIS

Caravan of thousands of migrants surrenders to authorities in southern Mexico

Mapastepec, Dec 2 (EFE).- The caravan of thousands of migrants that left on Christmas Eve 2023 from Tapachula on Mexico's southern border, came to an end after having advanced about 105 kilometers and surrendering to agents of the National Migration Institute (INM) in the municipality of Mapastepec.

After nine days of marching, the huge group of migrants agreed to get on the INM buses to be able to complete an immigration process at the facilities of the National System for the Comprehensive Development of the Family (DIF), located about 50 kilometers from Mapastepec.
