California files lawsuit against five major oil companies over climate change

Berkeley (United States), 09/19/2023.- The State of California filed a lawsuit against the five largest gasoline and oil companies, claiming that Big Oil knew they were causing climate change and lied to cover it up, and then blamed the companies for climate change-related storms and wildfires that caused billions of dollars in damages. The companies named in the lawsuit are Chevron, Exxon Mobile, Shell, BP and ConocoPhillips.
