Buddhist art dedicated to the working classes takes centre stage at the Met in New York

New York (United States), Sep 16 (EFE).- Buddhist tradition and iconography are the protagonists of a new exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York that takes a tour of the imagery of devotional art originating in the Himalayas and dating from between the 11th and 20th centuries, which aspired to leave the monasteries and reach the working classes.
