Brussels sees third day of protests by farmers demanding more improvements

Brussels (Belgium), Mar 26 (EFE) - (Camera: Pablo Garrigós) Brussels is experiencing a new mobilisation of farmers this Tuesday, the third after those of 1 and 26 February, with the aim of pressuring European authorities to achieve more improvements in their sector.

As in previous demonstrations, the protest in the streets of the Belgian capital in the vicinity of the European institutions coincides with a meeting of the authorities of the Community club, in this case a council of agriculture ministers.

On Tuesday, the ministers will analyse the proposals that the European Commission has been presenting in recent weeks to respond to the protests of the primary sector.

Specifically, on the table will be the initiatives that the EU executive presented on 15 March to soften some of the environmental requirements of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
