Bolivia takes steps to conserve Puya raimondii, the ‘queen of the Andes’ plant

Comanche (Bolivia), Nov. 14 (EFE).- The municipality of Comanche, in the Bolivian Altiplano, is carrying out a project to preserve the emblematic Puya raimondii, the plant known as the ‘queen of the Andes’ that lives between 40 and 100 years and blooms only once in its lifetime, but is also threatened by climate change and mining.
