Boat with 140 Rohingya migrants arrives in Indonesia

Maulee, Weh Island (Indonesia), Dec 2 (EFE/EPA) - (Camera: Hotli Simanjuntak) Some 140 Rohingya refugees, including women and children, disembarked on the coast of Indonesia on Saturday, a new arrival of members of this Burmese ethnic group persecuted by the authorities of their country in the midst of a migration crisis, while there are warnings of the possible arrival of two other boats.

The boat loaded with 139 Rohingya arrived on a beach in the city of Sabang, in the northeastern province of Aceh, in the north of the island of Sumatra, at around 2:30 local time (18:30 GMT on Friday), said the Indonesian office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
